2-year programs usually ask for a degree first; then some mandatory courses (credits),

including bio, socio, psycho, eng, ect. Of course all these courses are supposed to be well done. Competitve~~~ :-). Besides, some other freaking requirements.
If you don't have a degree, a rpn diploma or certificate should be ok to qualify you to bridge in any rn program as long as seats are available. Personally, I hate a speech like that, " Seats are available." This is just an altenative way to say, "Sorry. We cannot take you in this semester due to insufficient seats. " God knows where all the seats go and when would be the next for you! So, pray for your luck.

        • if i were you i would finish the master first( i know u hate it). It could be beneficial when you come to canada no matter what you apply for. That program in UOT might not the one you like. .
Come here and then do research for your career in the future.Only you know yourself best.
        • that program in UOT is 2rears long.
            • here you go.
            • BY THE WAY, 有一个大学真有两年的RN课程,只要你之前有过DEGREE.

                • University of Saskatchewan, it is a new 2 years program which has got started to accept students with degree background since last fall.
        • I'm in the same boat, but still doubt whether nursing is a good detour to practice medicine. After all these are two different fields, and you need a lot of time to focus on medical board exams.
          • Nursing focuses on nursing, not medicine practice
This is the reason why I suggested LZ may go for doctor license instead of nurse license, since she'd prefer to deal with patients. The philosophies of these two fields are overlapped, but also quite individual. So, think it over again before taking action.
    • UT RN is 2 years.
The 2-year RN program at UT is good for you. The admission requires 10 credits(equal to 20 courses), including Biology. You also need to provide reference letters both on acdemic and work if you want to apply. TOEFL 250 with writing 5.0. However, UT RN program focus on theory which is good for advanced study. I just finished first year of BScN at Ryerson. This 4-year program has many clinical placements. You can PM me if you want to get more information about RN programs.
