well look at it this way, Bachelor of Commerce vs Bachelor of Administrative Studies. which one do you think sounds better?
Commerce is a business degree whereas Administrative studies is an Art degree. And guess what? since I am in my last semester of ACF at Seneca, most of my classmates applied to Ryerson for direct entery amd they also applied to York's BAS as back up. As you can see why Ryerson wants to see more supporting documents.
However, in my opinion, the degree doesn't matter, what matter is the individual person who is holding the degree. If you want to pursue the CGA designation, York is a better choice because CGA recognize the most credits from york than Ryerson.
If you really like challenges, try applying to Schulich's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. I don't think college students with 4.0/4.0 can get in.
My conclusion is that there is an increasing demand for Business programs at Universities these days.
