if you really want to do, there is nothing that would be able to hold you back. I suppose your english is good. Just go ahead. Nursing is more about communication rather than nursing skills. You can try some second-entry program in various university, which only take you two years to be a nurse. Otherwise you have to register a nursing program from college and study it for four years to be eligible to write the national exam to be a nurse.
The job market is so hot now. the pay is good and work environment is improving. Chinese population does not have proportionally demographic nurses in Toronto. Nursing is never hard for us to learn even though you don't have medical backgroud. From my own experience, you only need to spend one year to get used to it, I mean, clinical things. Yes getting in is a little difficult but still is not as hard as getting in some fancy program.
